Current technology development is an area with great development potential and it is important to monitor this development. Results and opportunities in this area can be positively used also in the area of education. Education in the area of safety and protection of the population is emphasized both for professional rescuers and for the population. The possibilities of new technologies bring the possibility of modeling and representation of processes that would be practically impossible to implement experimentally in the process of education. Combining education and innovative technologies has created a project that deals with augmented reality and helps educate and motivate the public in the field of self-protection. The article aims to point out innovative elements of augmented reality for education of professional rescuers, general public or students especially in the field of safety. Methodological approach is taken from general characteristics to specific case studies using literature search, analysis and synthesis.
